Senior Systems Programmer                                                 

Reports to:

IT Manager or Systems Manager

Primary Objectives:

Specify and write programs which govern the functionality and connectivity of the company’s IT systems and infrastructure, and advise management and user departments on the optimisation of the company’s computer systems.

Main Accountabilities:

• Act as systems advisor to user departments and liaise with senior management and vendors on systems issues and requests for modifications/enhancements of computer systems.
• Contribute to major system scope and design specifications, and write high-level systems program specifications.
• Supervise systems programmers in day to day programming work and ensure quality and functionality of completed work.
• Coordinate maintenance work and quality control.
• Assist in the selection, installation and use of computing equipment and software.

Matching Indicators:

Tertiary qualifications and more than seven years experience in the systems function.
