Senior Chemist - Remuneration Report

Senior Chemist                                                                                        

Reports to:

Technical Manager, Laboratory Manager, Research & Development Manager, Quality Assurance Manager or Chief Chemist

Primary Objectives:

Plan and conduct scientific studies and lead the investigation of complex problems involving a high degree of originality and judgement.

Main Accountabilities:

• Propose budgets for labour and materials, plan, allocate and co-ordinate work within an approved program.
• Review, evaluate, finalise and approve reports, orders or instructions.
• Apply professional knowledge to the development of new techniques, methods, processes and products.
• Manage and develop subordinate scientists and technicians to ensure targets are met and to extend the skills of individual staff members.

Matching Indicators:

Professional qualifications and at least seven years experience including supervising other laboratory staff.
