Industrial Relations Manager                                                 

Reports to:

General Manager Human Resources, Division Manager or Chief Executive

Primary Objectives:

Formulate and manage the company’s Industrial Relations policies. Represent management in IR disputes with employees, unions and authorities. Provide advice to management on IR strategies to ensure continued productivity and profitability.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Participate in the formulation and negotiation of enterprise based agreements which satisfy the needs of the company and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare for, conduct and negotiate with employees and unions to protect the company’s interests.
  • Participate in the formulation and negotiation of enterprise based agreements which satisfy the needs of the company.
  • Investigate and recommend action on company policies and plans with IR implications.
  • Interpret industrial awards, agreements and laws and advise senior management on appropriate courses of action.

Matching Indicators:

Relevant qualification and eight – ten years IR experience with significant control over the organisation’s negotiations with employees and unions.
